Spicy and cruncy babycorn Satay made with vegan curd and zero oil, guilt free eating

Healthy appetizer, crunchy, mouth-watering, and perfect for a light evening snack. A burger or pizza is usually our food choice, savoury-bajra-or-pearl-millet-bitesnot a healthy green salad or an appetizer. Baby corn has an appealing color like sun-kissed yellow, crunchy, and crispy to taste. Satay is usually panfried or grilled. The Indian spices make the satay tasty and lip-smacking starter and the right choice for rainy evenings which barely requires any oil. Easy to make in no time. It is usually served with peanut or tomato sauce as a dip. It high in potassium and folic acid. They are easy to digest and rich sources of fiber. It is always good for kids who avoid eating healthy food, definitely try this dish which is nutritious and mouth-watering for all ages.

Ingredients

  • 200gms Baby corn
  • Oil as required
  • ½ tsp red chili powder
  • ¼ tsp turmeric.
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/4tsp Ajwain(Carom Seeds)
  • 2 tsp cornflour
  • 2-21/2 tsp curd (dairy or vegan curd)
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • First steam the baby corn over high heat in a steamer for about 3-4 min, until just cooked.Turn off the heat and keep aside.
  • In a bowl mix all the ingredients mentioned for marinade and make a thick paste.
  • Add the baby corns to this and evenly coat them with the mixture.
  • Allow the babycorns to marinate in the mixture for atleast 25- 30mins
  • Place the marinated baby corn on the skillet.Add a tbsp of oil
  • Close the baby corn with a lid so as to cook evenly
  • .Flip them once they are red on one side and fry it on the other side too.
  • Once corns are fried both sides, take off from the flame.
  • Insert skewers or picks through the center, place it in a platter
  • Serve along with peanut dipping sauce or chutney of your choice
